What is Code 4 Change NZ?
Code 4 Change NZ Charitable Trust delivers free, high-quality digital education to South Auckland schools with an Equity Index of 6–10, aiming to build equitable access to future-focused STEM learning for all Aotearoa’s tamariki.
Which schools are eligible, and how do we apply?
Primary Schools based in South Auckland with an Equity Index of 6–10 receive our programmes at no cost. Schools interested in a partnership can contact code4changenz@gmail.com or use our contact form.
For Equity Index 1–5, we offer tailored, paid programmes aligned to NZ Digital Technologies Curriculum, individual school's culture, digital strategy and learner needs.

We lead with manaakitanga (kindness), whanaungatanga (relationships), kaitiakitanga (guardianship), oritetanga (equity) and mātāuranga (openness and learning), ensuring each child is uplifted and empowered.
Why is digital literacy important?
Digital skills are essential for today’s world. We empower students with technical proficiency, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and resilience, preparing them to thrive in future jobs and contribute positively to their communities.
How we work
How do you integrate literacy and numeracy?
Every session embeds core literacy and numeracy skills using coding and technology, developing strong communicators, confident readers and creative problem solvers.
Who benefits from Code 4 Change NZ?
We serve the whole participating schools, with a particular focus on increasing female, Māori and Pacific representation in STEM. Our kaiako ensure that all learners feel welcomed, valued and included. Our programmes are culturally relevant, mana-enhancing and uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
How are your programmes different?
Our programmes blend hands-on coding, digital literacy and STEM learning, supporting holistic growth through teamwork, creativity, leadership, confidence and real-world problem-solving. Every lesson is mapped to the New Zealand Digital Curriculum and the participating primary school's digital framework, embedding literacy and numeracy throughout our content.
How does Code 4 Change NZ support future pathways?
We connect rangatahi with industry mentors, creative projects and pathways into STEM careers, helping every learner see themselves in the future of Aotearoa’s tech sector.

We foster strong connections, encourage partnership with families, offer transparent communication and provide opportunities for whānau to engage and celebrate our learner achievements.
